Take control of your background check information

It has never been more important to know what others are seeing about you and knowing how the information is used.

In the world today, nearly anyone can obtain your personal information. From government agencies to your next-door neighbor, your information is not safe and any misuse of your information can impact your life for the long term.  There could be inaccurate information on your background check, or someone else using your personal information to take out loans, credit cards, and more - affecting employment and other areas of your life. Monitoring helps you stay in control of your information.

  • Find out if anyone else looked at your background check
  • Find out if errors in your background are impacting employment, renting, etc.
  • Learn how your background check is compiled
  • Learn which agencies and sources report on your background

The great thing about getting your own background check prior to others viewing it is so you can ensure it is accurate! Discrepancy rates on background checks due to stolen social security numbers and common names rate at approximately 2 million annually according to the Social Security Administration.  MyBackgroundCheck helps you take control of your personal information!

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What will I see in my background check report?

Your report will detail any and all of the information from the sources above as well as nearly fifty other international sources. You will find out if any government agency has ever investigated you, if there are errors, if someone has viewed your background check, who viewed it, and if anyone is using your personal information.

I have never done anything wrong, why do I need to monitor my background check?

One good reason is identity theft. If your identity was stolen, someone can commit crimes using your information so that their identity is hidden. You would never know unless you were caught in an unexpected predicament or you were monitoring your background check. In addition, the Patriot Act allows government agencies to investigate anyone even if they are not known to be a part of a terrorist organization. Your report will show you if anything is wrong or if you’ve ever been investigated.

What do I do if there is inaccurate information on my background check?

Knowledge is power. You can call any of the agencies that reported any inaccurate information and have them start an investigation to clear your name off their database. If you don’t know early, it could be catastrophic and more difficult to cure later.
